보라 Twins #1

보라 (bo-la / bo-rah) means “purple” in Korean. Purple is my favourite colour and I’m half Korean (on my mum’s side.)

Deborah is my 보라 twin because we both LOVE purple, among many other things. I met her in July 2004 while we were at Yonsei University studying Korean during the summer. She visited Hong Kong the same year. Though we were horrible in keeping in touch a year after that (mostly my fault), we are still awesome friends. We have one of those friendships that neither time nor distance can change.

I was ecstatic to see her in person again, but it also felt very normal and natural to be chilling together. It was like we had so much to catch up on, but like we’ve been hanging out everyday for ages. I’m so glad to have a friend like her!

She flew in from Beijing, directly after her trip in North Korea! Her stories about the people, places and culture there are so interesting and I can’t wait to hear more and see more of her pictures. She got me two pressies! One is from South Korea, from her trip there earlier this summer and the other from North Korea!

This is the last day I’m going to allow myself to eat outside of my diet limits! Somewhat pigged out… check out what I had in the pics below!

Look at what we saw in Causeway Bay. A dude dressed up as a deep fried chicken cutlet and some sort of street performance. Sunday night at about 11:30.

Stay tuned for more shots of random things in Hong Kong that you normally wouldn’t see because I tend to stick with my DotA+DOTA 2+movies+work+gym regime. XD

보라 twins for life! :D

WOOHOO! PURPLE pencil case and North Korean phrase book!

Eel with "20 Grain Rice". Nice rice texture but seemed more like 5 grains.

Evil temptation. . . Oreo cheesecake + Strawberry Banana Chillino! Never again! ><

Mascot: OMG! Don't eat me! ><

11:30pm in HK. . . When you walk out of the buildings on the street at that time, you would easily be fooled that it's still the afternoon! LOL

We giggled so much, that I accidentally zoomed in. . . HAHA

I did the zoom in mistake the next day too!. . . giggles ftw!
