Detective Dee and The Mystery of the Phantom Flame Review

Although I feel asleep while watching Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame, it wasn’t that bad. Empress Wu summons Detective Dee, who was previously exiled, to solve the recent mysterious deaths. People seemed to suffer from  internal combustion because they exploded in flames. I have no idea why some of the English translation seemed to be a bit off, but I’m no translation expert. The talking deer of divine intervention aside, the action scenes were quite exciting and entertaining. Probably just the movie for Chinese history and martial art lovers. Just make sure you go to the washroom before watching this movie because it’s as long as its title!
